Introduction to COVID 19

Since early in 2020 our nation, state, and church have been facing the global pandemic of COVID – 19. When Governor Ducey issued a stay at home order on March 30, 2020, our church complied fully, and our staff began to work from home. We had already suspended in person worship. Hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, and most congregate living facilities stopped allowing visitors and restricted activities for their patients and residents. It has been a long season of online worship, isolation, and great care to avoid spreading this terrible disease.

Fortunately, in recent weeks (as of April 2021)  the infection rate for our state has declined dramatically, and even more for the areas around our church.  The vaccination rate in Sun City West as of April 25, 2021,  is over 75% and is increasing steadily in surrounding communities.

As a result we resumed in person worship outside on March 28, 2021, with social distancing and mask requirements. On Easter we worshiped inside, in our Fellowship Hall, observing a 25% capacity rule. No singing was allowed at first, but as of May 1 we will return to our sanctuary with singing allowed (fully masked) and a maximum capacity of 125 in each of two identical services, 9 and 10:30.  Advance registration is required, click here to register.  Please join us!

We plan to offer a recorded service weekly as well, although the schedule for availability will probably change in the next few weeks.

Our revised re-opening plan is separately published here.
