Think back to a time when you really needed God's help. Did you find God's love through the care given by another person?
God's love comes in many forms and those who experienced that love want to share it with others.
The ministry of the Mission Committee is to connect those who have been blessed by God with those who need God's blessings.
We invite you to explore the many ways in which Shepherd of the

So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. ----John 13:14
Shepherd of the Hills Mission Projects
Financial Support Budgeted Giving-Every year we identify several mission priorities that we support through our church budget. This is our way of emphasizing the importance of giving to others.
Communion Offerings-9 months during the year a flyer is put in the church bulletin on communion weekends. In 2009 the Communion Offerings are given to support United Methodist Outreach Ministries in downtown Phoenix.
On-Going Projects Food Drive-The first weekend of the month you may bring canned food items to the church. The United Methodist Men take the donated food to the Food Bank the next Monday.
Dinner at UMOM(*)-On the Fourth Tuesday of the month we meet at church at 3:00 PM to go downtown to prepare and serve dinner for 300 people at the transitional housing unit at United Methodist Outreach Ministries. 2/3 of those we serve are children.
Westside Food Bank-On the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7:15 AM we meet in the church parking lot to go to the Westside Food Bank. Once there we pack food boxes that are then given out during the week.
Habitat for Humanity-For the 25th Anniversary of the church we built a Habitat Home for the Nabija Family. Since that time we have also participated at part of coalition of United Methodist Churches to build other homes for Habitat for Humanity. In March 2008 a home for the Ali Family was finished and dedicated. We are currently working on a new home together with other United Methodist Churches. It will be dedicated in May 2009.
Partner Church Ministry-Our church has become partners with a church in New Orleans, LA. It is our purpose to provide the members of that church with love, encouragement and support throughout the year. The Justa Center-This ministry addresses the concerns of homeless senior men. In January we collect warm clothing for the men and in September we collect cleaning supplies to give those who have found housing. Interfaith Community Care-This ministry provides many social services for Sun City West and our surrounding communities. Periodically throughout the year we partner with Interfaith and provide volunteers for short term projects.
Summer Projects During the summer months we want to be a blessing by collecting items for others. In June we join the Annual Conference Mission Drive and collect the items they direct us to collect. One month we collect toiletry items which are then donated to UMOM* One month we collect Back-to-School items which are given to Wesley Community Center to distribute to the children.
Christmas Projects UMOM(*) Christmas Gift Cards-If you need a gift for the person who has everything, this gift card provides for those who have nothing. When you purchase a UMOM Gift Card your donation helps to provide a night's housing for families with no home.
Sock Tree for UMOM(*)-During the month of December we have several small Christmas trees in the around the church. You may help us decorate them by adding a new pair of socks, which are then given to help those whose feet would be cold without your gift.
Christmas Shoe Boxes -In cooperation with The Franklin Graham Association we collect shoeboxes filled with gifts for children. Operation Christmas child send the gifts to children around the world.
The Mission Team is prayerfully looking at ways to expand our outreach.
